The Emergency screen
The red tile on the guide home screen is the vault: every number you might need in a bad hour, saved on your phone, arranged so the most important one is the biggest thing on the screen. It works with no signal, because that is exactly when you need it.
The numbers, top to bottom
Each number is a full-width button — tap it and the phone dials.
- Local emergency — the police-and-ambulance number for the country you are standing in, from the trip's country guide. Labeled plainly, e.g. "Local emergency (police, ambulance) in Portugal."
- The office — your operator's line, labeled with their name.
- The embassy — name, address, and phone, when the office has added them to the country guide.
- Tonight's hotel — name, address, and front-desk number, derived from the itinerary so it is always the right night's hotel.
These public numbers are deliberately not behind your PIN. In a crisis, dialing an ambulance must never wait on four digits.
The vault: your guests' details
Below the numbers, behind the same 4-digit PIN as the roster, sits the part that is personal:
- Guest emergency contacts — every guest whose booking includes one, as a tap-to-call row: "Ruth Delgado — Michael Delgado" and the number. When something happens to a guest, the person their family chose is two taps away.
- Dietary & medical notes — the same care notes the roster carries, gathered in one list so you can brief a restaurant, a hospital, or a replacement guide from a single screen.
As the screen itself puts it: "Saved on this phone — works with no signal." The vault comes down with the roster when you join, and never depends on coverage.
When a guest is missing
The Emergency screen pairs with Locations. A guest in trouble can press SOS on their own Emergency page — it sends their position once, even if they never turned sharing on, and it arrives on your Locations screen pinned to the top in red with a call button. So the drill is: check Locations for an SOS or a last position, and use Emergency for the numbers — theirs, their family's, the office's.
Before the season starts
- Open the Emergency screen once while you have signal, right after joining — that confirms the trip has downloaded and the vault is populated.
- If a number is missing — no office line, no embassy, a guest without an emergency contact — tell the office now, at a desk, not later, at a hospital. What they add reaches your phone on its next sync.
