Joining your trip

One code connects the app to your tour. It has 6 letters and numbers, it comes from your tour company, and you only need to enter it once.

Where your code comes from

Your trip code is personal to you. You will find it in one of three places:

It looks something like ABC234. Codes never contain the number 0, the letter O, the number 1, or the letter I — so there is nothing to mix up. Capital letters and small letters both work.

Entering the code

You need an internet connection for this one step — home Wi-Fi is perfect.

  1. Open the Cordelle app. You will see a screen that says Enter your trip code.
  2. Type the 6 characters from your email or paper slip.
  3. Tap Join my trip.
  4. Wait a moment while the app says "Joining and downloading your trip…".

If you tapped a link or a QR code from your welcome email, the code may already be filled in for you. The screen will say so: "We filled this in from your email. Check it looks right, then tap Join my trip."

What downloads to your phone

When the code is accepted, the app saves your whole trip on your phone: the day-by-day itinerary, your hotels with addresses and phone numbers, your group's flights, the packing list, country information, and the emergency numbers page. Once that download finishes, everything works with no internet at all — the screen will say "Your trip is downloaded — ready for offline."

If your tour company has not published the itinerary yet, the app says so honestly and downloads it by itself the next time you open the app with internet.

The app becomes your tour company's

The moment your code is accepted, the app changes into your tour company's own colors, with their name and logo at the top. That is normal and expected — it is how you know you are in the right place.

One question about notifications

Right after joining, the app asks one question: whether you want a heads-up on your phone when your guide sends a message. Tap Yes, notify me or No thanks — either answer is fine, and every message is always kept in the Inbox tab regardless. You can change your mind later; see Notifications.
