Using the app offline

Once your trip has downloaded, the app does not need a signal. Not on the plane, not in a stone-walled palace, not on a mountain road. Everything you read is already on your phone.

The promise, plainly

When you joined, the app saved your whole trip on your phone: the itinerary, your hotels, your flights, the packing list, country information, and the emergency numbers. Every one of those screens reads from that saved copy. There is no screen in the app that needs the internet to open.

The "Updated" stamp

At the top of the main screens you will see a small pill that says something like Updated 20 minutes ago. That is the app being honest with you: it tells you when your phone last checked with your tour company for changes.

• If it says "Updated 5 minutes ago," what you are reading is fresh.
• If it says "Updated 2 days ago," what you are reading is what was true 2 days ago — still useful, but worth refreshing when you next have a signal.
• Tap the pill any time to check for updates. While it checks, it says "Checking for updates…".

How changes reach you

If your tour company updates the itinerary — a restaurant changes, a departure time moves — the new version arrives the next time your phone is online and the app checks in. You do not need to do anything, but you can hurry it along:

1. Connect to any internet — hotel Wi-Fi in the evening is the usual way. Your hotel's Wi-Fi name and password are on the Hotels page in the Info tab.
2. Open the app and pull down on the Today or Itinerary screen, or tap the Updated pill.
3. There is also a button for it: Info tab → Settings → Update my trip.

Things you do while offline are not lost

A few small things travel the other way — for example, the app telling your guide that you have seen a message. If you do these with no signal, the app simply keeps them and sends them by itself the moment you are back online. When something is waiting, the Updated pill says so: "Updated 3 hours ago · 1 waiting to send." You never need to manage this.

The taxi card

One screen is designed for someone else to read: the taxi card. Open the Info tab and tap Taxi Card. It shows tonight's hotel in very large print — "Please take me to:" followed by the address, in the local script where your tour company has provided it — so you can hold it up to a driver who does not share your language. Because it is saved on your phone, it works at night, in the rain, with no signal.

If something looks out of date

• Check the Updated pill first. If it has been a while, get online and refresh.
• If refreshing does not fix it, use Info → Settings → Having trouble? Download everything again. That fetches a completely fresh copy of your trip.
• If the information itself is wrong — a hotel name, a flight time — tell your tour company. They fix it once, and everyone's app updates.
